Selena Gomez’s Stylist Shares 5 Denim Finds You Need Now

It’s back to basics.

Whether denim is distressed, cropped or even laced together, celebs are finding interesting new ways to wear it. At the same time, feeling inundated by options is also now a legit concern. There are so may trendy design elements that finding the right one to fit your style may seem intimidating. Sometimes, less is really more.

“Denim is timeless,” said celebrity stylist Christian Classen, who calls Selena Gomez, Dove Cameron and Bebe Rexha clients. “I love pieces that aren’t stamped with a date.”

We’ve seen the pro style his celeb clients in seemingly simple, classic denim looks that still have an impact. For the minimalist, there’s that Time mag editorial, in which the “Bad Liar” singer wore a plain white Vince tee and The Row jeans. For the bolder style savant, there’s that time he dressed Selena in cropped flared jeans with a frayed hem and a dinosaur sweater over a turtleneck. Lesson learned: You can still impart a distinct style without having to be so obvious with your denim.

“I’m not a fan of trends. But I love a good mom jean. I also love all denim to be tailored and clean. Any pre-made tears or aesthetic stains/washes…that whole trend can disappear forever,” he added.

Christian’s current denim obsessions, however, can stay.

Don’t have the celebrity bank account to support his finds. The pro stylist also shared the key to finding a quality true blue (or black, or white, or whatever) jean.

“[Find] Enough stretch for comfort but not too much stretch that it becomes a legging,” Christian advised. “Sometimes the most expensive denim is so stiff that it takes months to break in. I don’t know anyone who has time to work in those hard fabrics. It’s about 70 percent fit and the rest is about comfort. What doesn’t fit can be tailored by an expert denim doctor.”

Beyonce’s make up artist shares insider-scoop & trends

Instagram Butler Maldives hotel

Hiring an ‘Instagram butler’ is an actual thing

October 24, 2017

Q&A with makeup extraordinaire, Sir John

What brings you to South Africa?

I’m here to host two Beauty Masterclasses with Woolworths with their private beauty label ‘WBeauty’, as well as showcase the upcoming South Africa Fashion Week (SAFW) runway makeup looks.

Who was your first celebrity client?

Naomi Campbell. I met her during my first Paris Fashion Week, and next thing I knew, I was getting called to go do her makeup at her hotel!

What’s your most requested Beyoncé beauty look?

The 2017 Grammys. Everyone sort of still references that. It got the most eyes for some reason. For me this year, I think that was one of the most impactful things that I did, work-wise.

You’ve been Beyoncé’s official makeup artist for her tours, albums and more. How does one decide which makeup look to go with for someone like Queen Bey? Is it a collaboration or does she let you do your magic?

It depends on the event. Everything is case by case. For example, I know she has a formula. She just loves beautiful skin and natural beauty so if I know she loves that, I’m going to nail that and everything else is going to be the icing on the cake. So for people who want to be makeup artists, hair stylists, manicurists, when you have a client, know their style and the essence of who they are. Once you have that, you can do it with your eyes closed. Adding other things will blow them away and they’ll trust you more once you know their formula.

What’s going to be some of the hottest make up trends for summer?

I see so many cool things happening right now, honestly. I’m liking the unicorn highlighter. I’m liking the prismatic highlighter for women who are under 35.

A lot of women are scared to wear red lipstick! Any advice?

There are so many different complexions so I’m thinking about all women, from Harlem to Hong Kong. Whenever you want your skin to pop or your tan to come alive, you always want to choose an orange-based red. Think ‘50s red or tomato red. Those will always make your skin look healthier. On the contrary, if you want your teeth to look really, really white and your smile to illuminate, go for a blue-based red.

You have so many beautiful A-lister clients. What’s a tip that you use on them that’s easy enough for non-makeup artists to do?

I would say a cool thing for a non-makeup artist to do would be statement lips, then treat your brows as a feature. I think that women nowadays know the power of brows, but that there’s also more than one focus.

Let’s talk eyebrows! Do you think that a ‘90s thin brow will ever come back or is the thicker brow here to stay?

I think everything is going to come full circle. We had the ’80s where people didn’t even tweeze at all. But the thin brow didn’t come from the ‘90s as much as it comes from the ‘30s: Marlene Dietrich, Ava Gardner, and women of the film noir era. It’s all going to go full circle. If you look at any beauty staple in the 20th century, it’s a re-shopped idea. So wait for it if you love it.

Have the confidence to rock it and know that it’s coming back in season. And if it’s not, then you’re the only girl who’s wearing it.

What is your message to other African artists out there?

I think the new generation of artists in the world we live in now, we don’t have the luxury of just doing beautiful makeup or doing beautiful hair. There is such a social and emotional connection that we have to have with our work that you have to be deeper than people ever previously were. You have to have that substance.

Making money in the stock market can be challenging, but it is not impossible. Accomplished investors typically have a well-rounded understanding of how markets function. Many successful investors have learned to be patient, disciplined, and ready to jump on any opportunity that arises. Securing higher returns on investment dollars may take some extra time and effort for those who do not have a lengthy background in the stock market. Although there are many types of investments out there, investing in stocks has traditionally provided the highest potential for returns. To realize consistent returns, investors typically have to maintain a steadfast approach and be willing to adapt to changing market environments over time.

CELEBRITY FASHIONS LTD. (CELEBRITY.BO) has a 14-day ATR of 0.89. The Average True Range is an investor tool used to measure stock volatility. The ATR is not used to figure out price direction, just to measure volatility. The ATR is an indicator developed by J. Welles Wilder. Wilder has developed multiple indicators that are still quite popular in today’s investing landscape. The general interpretation of the ATR is the higher the ATR value, the higher the volatility.

Currently, the 14-day ADX for CELEBRITY FASHIONS LTD. (CELEBRITY.BO) is sitting at 15.59. Generally speaking, an ADX value from 0-25 would indicate an absent or weak trend. A value of 25-50 would support a strong trend. A value of 50-75 would identify a very strong trend, and a value of 75-100 would lead to an extremely strong trend. ADX is used to gauge trend strength but not trend direction. Traders often add the Plus Directional Indicator (+DI) and Minus Directional Indicator (-DI) to identify the direction of a trend.

The RSI, or Relative Strength Index, is a widely used technical momentum indicator that compares price movement over time. The RSI was created by J. Welles Wilder who was striving to measure whether or not a stock was overbought or oversold. The RSI may be useful for spotting abnormal price activity and volatility. The RSI oscillates on a scale from 0 to 100. The normal reading of a stock will fall in the range of 30 to 70. A reading over 70 would indicate that the stock is overbought, and possibly overvalued. A reading under 30 may indicate that the stock is oversold, and possibly undervalued. After a recent check, the 14-day RSIfor CELEBRITY FASHIONS LTD. (CELEBRITY.BO) is currently at 39.90, the 7-day stands at 36.45, and the 3-day is sitting at 21.55.

Looking further at additional technical indicators we can see that the 14-day Commodity Channel Index (CCI) for CELEBRITY FASHIONS LTD. (CELEBRITY.BO) is sitting at -84.07. CCI is an indicator used in technical analysis that was designed by Donald Lambert. Although it was originally intended for commodity traders to help identify the start and finish of market trends, it is frequently used to analyze stocks as well. A CCI reading closer to +100 may indicate more buying (possibly overbought) and a reading closer to -100 may indicate more selling (possibly oversold).

Moving averages can help spot trends and price reversals. They may also be used to help find support or resistance levels. Moving averages are considered to be lagging indicators meaning that they confirm trends. A certain stock may be considered to be on an uptrend if trading above a moving average and the average is sloping upward. On the other side, a stock may be considered to be in a downtrend if trading below the moving average and sloping downward. Shares of CELEBRITY FASHIONS LTD. (CELEBRITY.BO) have a 7-day moving average of 15.58. Taking a glance at the relative strength indictor, we note that the 14-day RSI is currently at 39.90, the 7-day stands at 36.45, and the 3-day is sitting at 21.55.

Miss Malini’s Shares Her Story Of Becoming India’s Biggest Celebrity Blogger

We love MissMalini’s blog for a variety of reasons– the most prominent one being that it dishes out the dirt on all our favourite celebrities. Let’s face it, if there is one topic that gets everyone started on, it is Bollywood. From behind-the-scene specials to Ranveer Singh’s latest DubSmash endeavours, 40-year-old Malini Agarwal left no stone unturned to develop her passion for writing and turn it into a thriving career.

Finding Her Calling

As the daughter of a diplomat, Malini travelled the world before finding herself in Delhi. In 1996, she ended up joining Maitreyi College in Delhi University. “It was strange being in an all-girls college,” she declared in JoshTalks 2017, “but that’s how I got into dramatics and even joined a professional dance troupe called Veronica and the Planets.” Before she became a member of Sonam Kapoor’s posse, she was a part of Sukhbir Singh’s squad (of the Oh Ho Ho fame). She even starred in the aforementioned music video as a backup dancer!

In 2000, she visited a close friend working in advertising in Mumbai. “I got into a cab, and the cab had disco lights, everything was neon, and I went out at night, and everything was so bright,” she recalled. It was love at first sight for Malini. From here on, the starry eyed young woman’s life unfolded like any conventional Bollywood drama.

Malini admits she has been pretty lucky– somehow always in the right place at the right time. She moved to Bombay into a house with six girls and a pigeon– with ₹40,000 and a dream. She served a brief stint as a freelance emcee, copywriter, radio DJ at 92.5 FM Radio One and as a gossip columnist for Mid-Day before moving on to Head of Digital Content for Channel V. And then, MissMalini happened.

When Passion Pays Off

On a friend’s suggestion, Malini started blogging as a hobby in 2008. It turned out to be great advice. Drawing upon her expertise in tabloid journalism and the Photoshop and HTML skills she had acquired over the period, MissMalini gradually became the one-stop digital destination for all things Bollywood, Fashion, Lifestyle and Geek Chic. What started as a casual project turned into a full-fledged media enterprise, with its own portal and a traffic of four million unique visitors every month.

Malini’s army of thirty personnels comprises of young people in their twenties who write, tweet incessantly, post on Facebook, style and shoot photos and videos, among other things. Though the blog is focused on India, there is growing coverage of international trends, celebrity news and analysis – with a voice that represents the new, young and global Indians.

“People around the world know our country for what they watch on Discovery Channel or Slumdog Millionaire but so few talk about the enterprise and talent India has to offer,” she rues. The reason she started a blog was because she felt that there was a gap in how everything was being reported.

Her Life Mantra Is Simple

Named as ‘India’s most famous blogger’ by The Huffington Post and Forbes, Bollywood’s online poster girl Miss Malini exemplifies what aspirational India is all about. She is living proof that hardwork and ambition can lead to success, effectively debunking the popular cliché that you need a godfather to be able to succeed in a city like Mumbai.

Her philosophy in life is simple: the greatest thing you’ll ever learn is how to love and be loved in return. “Close your eyes and think of the one thing you would do for the rest of your life if nobody paid you to do it. Now that’s what you should be doing for a living. Once you find your voice and a unique gap in the market, you are likely to be successful at it,” she offers some pearls of wisdom about starting a career. Her words resonate with a finality that none can deny.

The data is represented graphically by fluctuating between a value of 0 and 100. The indicator is computed by using the average losses and gains of a stock over a certain time period. RSI can be used to help spot overbought or oversold conditions. An RSI reading over 70 would be considered overbought, and a reading under 30 would indicate oversold conditions. Investors may be trying to decide if stocks will make new highs before the year is out, and whether or not the bull market will celebrate its 9th anniversary next year. The tricky part is prognosticating the short term picture. Investors may not be comfortable enough to go all in, but they may not want to get bearish given the solid economic backdrop. Will there be a big breakout given the strength of earnings and economic growth? Will investors just become numb to the headlines and decide to focus on the positive economic picture? It is always wise to remember that the market can have a correction at any time for any reason. If the political landscape gets even more dysfunctional, then it may be enough of a driver to spur a correction.

Chrissy Teigen Shares Her Thoughts on Unicorn-Themed Food

It’s very unlikely you’ll ever see Chrissy Teigen drinking a Unicorn Frappuccino  — or anything Unicorn-themed for that matter.

The model and cookbook author told PEOPLE on Wednesday while promoting McDonald’s McDelivery service that she is “exhausted” by the new trend.

“The unicorn burrito with cotton candy? That’s not a burrito. That’s a tortilla filled with cotton candy and jelly on it,” she says. “I’m just not understanding a lot of things in the food world and I feel like it’s all about the Instagram now. I mean, I’m old school in the way where I’m like just serve good food and people will come to it. Now everyone feels like they need a gimmick and you really don’t—just make good, hearty beautiful food.”

When it comes to what food she would like to see have a moment in the food world, she had two words: meat pies.

RELATED: Chrissy Teigen Is Not Going to ‘Deprive’ Her Daughter Luna of Fast Food

“I do feel like meat pies haven’t taken off enough in the United States,” Teigen says. “Everywhere else they appreciate a good meat pie, like at the gas station you get a meat pie. They’re so easy to hold, so delicious. Ugh, I love them.”

While chatting with PEOPLE, Teigen also gave an update on her upcoming second cookbook, saying the process has been difficult: “The first one, it’s every recipe you know you love, your family loves, then you start to work on the second one and John [Legend] compares it to a second album,” she says. “You want to change it up but you also know why it worked so well in the first place so you don’t want to change it up too much.”

The mom to daughter Luna, 1, with husband Legend says her palate has also changed. “Writing the last book I was pregnant, and promoting the last book I was pregnant and the food that I loved is different from the food that I love now,” she says. “That’s definitely the challenge in it.”

Although she hasn’t totally wrapped her head around the concept just yet, she does know that she wants the book to “tell a story.”

“I keep saying I want to put in a few more healthy options in the book but that doesn’t tell the right story,” Teigen says. “To have like a tuna casserole oozing with cheese and then next to it a pomegranate salad or something, that drives me wild, it makes me anxious even thinking about it. So basically I either have to let that part go and realize everyone has different palates and in the same way that I sometimes want a light salad, sometimes I want a casserole. I just have to figure out mentally how to get past that.”

Technical Update on Celebrity Fashions Limited. (CELEBRITY.BO) Shares

Active traders may be zooming in on certain technical indicators for stock assessment. Currently, Celebrity Fashions Limited. (CELEBRITY.BO) has a 14-day Commodity Channel Index (CCI) of 143.27. The CCI technical indicator can be used to help determine if a stock is overbought or oversold. CCI may also be used to help discover divergences that could possibly signal reversal moves. A CCI closer to +100 may provide an overbought signal, and a CCI near -100 may offer an oversold signal.

We can also do some further technical analysis on the stock. At the time of writing, the 14-day ADX for Celebrity Fashions Limited. (CELEBRITY.BO) is 40.81. Many technical chart analysts believe that an ADX value over 25 would suggest a strong trend. A reading under 20 would indicate no trend, and a reading from 20-25 would suggest that there is no clear trend signal. The ADX is typically plotted along with two other directional movement indicator lines, the Plus Directional Indicator (+DI) and Minus Directional Indicator (-DI). Some analysts believe that the ADX is one of the best trend strength indicators available.

Interested investors may be watching the Williams Percent Range or Williams %R. Williams %R is a popular technical indicator created by Larry Williams to help identify overbought and oversold situations. Investors will commonly use Williams %R in conjunction with other trend indicators to help spot possible stock turning points. Celebrity Fashions Limited. (CELEBRITY.BO)’s Williams Percent Range or 14 day Williams %R currently sits at -15.32. In general, if the indicator goes above -20, the stock may be considered overbought. Alternately, if the indicator goes below -80, this may point to the stock being oversold.

Tracking other technical indicators, the 14-day RSI is presently standing at 84.41, the 7-day sits at 88.29, and the 3-day is resting at 89.01 for Celebrity Fashions Limited. (CELEBRITY.BO). The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is an often employed momentum oscillator that is used to measure the speed and change of stock price movements. When charted, the RSI can serve as a visual means to monitor historical and current strength or weakness in a certain market. This measurement is based on closing prices over a specific period of time. As a momentum oscillator, the RSI operates in a set range. This range falls on a scale between 0 and 100. If the RSI is closer to 100, this may indicate a period of stronger momentum. On the flip side, an RSI near 0 may signal weaker momentum. The RSI was originally created by J. Welles Wilder which was introduced in his 1978 book “New Concepts in Technical Trading Systems”.

For further review, we can take a look at another popular technical indicator. In terms of moving averages, the 200-day is currently at 13.23, the 50-day is 16.06, and the 7-day is resting at 20.80. Moving averages are a popular trading tool among investors. Moving averages can be used to help filter out the day to day noise created by other factors. MA’s may be used to identify uptrends or downtrends, and they can be a prominent indicator for detecting a shift in momentum for a particular stock. Many traders will use moving averages for different periods of time in conjunction with other indicators to help gauge future stock price action.

Investors may be intent on creating unique strategies when approaching the equity markets. Individuals with longer-term mindsets may have completely different strategies than those who trade in the short-term. Whatever class they fall under, investors may have to decide how aggressive they want to be in order to capitalize on these strategies. Navigating the bull market may make things a bit easier for some and much harder for others. Many investors will set their sights on dips and corrections. This may prove to be a successful strategy, but this may also create many missed opportunities. Keeping track of key economic data along with market trends and earnings information typically seems to be a boon to any strategy. Highly active traders may keep close watch after the markets have a sleepy session or two. Investors staying the course might actually be relieved when activity cools a bit.

Monica Rose Shares Celebrity Athleisure Styling Tips

Monica Rose is the super-stylist to stars like Chrissy Teigen and Gigi Hadid (and former stylist to the Kardashian/Jenner clan), responsible for some of the most infamous athleisure looks. Naturally, we were thrilled when we got to pick her brain for styling tips on how to look so damn effortlessly stylish post-workout—whether the paparazzi is waiting outside or not.

Shape: How do you make athleisure look luxe enough to wear to work or on a date?
Monica Rose: “A standout jacket is always cool. What’s great about workout clothes now is that they are such great quality. They’ve been designed to look good not just to be functional at the gym, so there are so many great ways to wear them. Reebok does great high-waisted gym leggings, which I pair with a more upscale jacket and a great handbag. I feel like that’s a good balance. And accessories always help to make something look less casual if you want to disguise the fact that you’ve been in gym clothes all day!” (Try these athleisure bomber jackets for women.)

Shape: For a woman on-the-go, from the gym to brunch for example, what’s a quick style tip that instantly dresses up a look?
MR: “Red lipstick immediately dresses up a look. Or something unexpected like a statement earring.”

Shape: You’ve created a trademark style for the celebrities you style (the neutral floor length duster, bomber jackets over sports bras, classic sweats with heels, etc). Is there one signature Monica Rose trend that works for every body type?
MR: “I think one of the key things about the way I work is that I don’t like things to look too polished or too ‘done’. I like it to feel effortless and I think that’s something that’s achievable for everyone. That and putting your own twist on things. I’m always cutting things up, stitching things, finding new ways to wear things—that’s something that everyone can do. Make your style authentic to you.”

Shape: You’re known to love sneakers, especially classic styles like the Reebok Classic Leather. What’s an easy way to modernize a classic?
MR: “I think the thing about the Classic Leather sneaker is that you can wear it with anything because it’s so versatile. So your look can be super modern and you can still keep your sneaker classic, white and timeless. Versatility is the key for pieces that never go out of style and there’s something nice about having an item that’s familiar to you and constant, even if you are experimenting with different looks, seasons or evolving your style.”

Shape: Lots of women would like to try the trends that you style on your celebs, but are nervous about doing it on a budget and looking crazy. What’s a hot trend that we can easily try at home without looking like a complete fashion victim?
MR: “I’m always into hats. I’m a hat girl. I styled Kendall in a great Saint Laurent fisherman hat as an airport look but you can get amazing versions just as great from vintage stores for a few dollars. That’s a nice touch that’s not too ‘out there’ or difficult to try. Another one is statement earrings, which I’m working a lot with lately. You don’t need to be super experimental but putting on an over-sized earring either with a casual tee or a more dressy look is a great way to try something different.”

Janet Jackson shares photo of son Eissa Al Mana. Janet Jackson has shared the first photo of her son Eissa Al Mana, three months after he was born. The 50-year-old singer welcomed her son Eissa Al Mana – whom she has with her estranged husband Wissam Al Mana – into the world three months ago, and she has now shared a photo of the tot with those who check out her personal website. The sweet snap, posted on JanetJackson.com, features Eissa yawning while he cuddles up to his mother. A source said: “Janet is ecstatic. She’s so happy with her baby and that’s all she is focused on.” It was previously revealed that the pair decided to go their separate ways and want to focus on the co-parenting of their

son. An insider said: “Sadly, Janet and Wissam have decided that it wasn’t working and to go their separate ways. “They’re both busy people but determined to be good parents, even if they’re apart. It’s amicable and Eissa will stay with his mother, who is basing herself in London.” And the sweet snap of Eissa comes after it was previously claimed Janet was only allowing “a select few” people to see her baby so soon after the birth. A source said: “Janet and her baby are doing well. She has hired help at home and her husband been with her through it all. It was a difficult pregnancy but she is very blessed and has a healthy baby. She has great doctors. A select few have seen her baby. She is so excited to be a mom … “She is totally in love. She is taking time to just be with her baby at this time and that’s all she really wants. Working out will come, but she is taking it easy at this time.”
